HOW TO SPONSOR A HABITAT HOME
Thousands of families in our community lack adequate housing. Habitat for
Humanity seeks to to provide the funds, labor, and/or leadership
assistance needed to build affordable housing. We welcome the support of any
individual, organization, church, corporation or foundation interested in
assisting us in our mission.
WHAT DOES A HABITAT HOME SPONSOR DO?
There are several levels of Habitat home sponsorship. These
levels invovle paying a part or all of the building expenses, providing
leadership and volunteer labor, and/or providing a portion of a Habitat home,
such as a room, a roof, sinks, doors, cabinets, etc.
HOW MUCH WILL IT COST TO SPONSOR A HOME IN THE YEAR 2006?
Primary Sponsorship Requires a
commitment of $100,000 and/or providing leadership and volunteer
labor. Co-Sponsorship Requires a commitment
to $50,000 and sharing the responsibility for providing leadership and
volunteer labor with another co-sponsoring group.
Major Contributor Requires a minimum
commitment of $25,000 and providing leadership at various levels.
Community Sponsor Requires a minimum
commitment of $10,000+.
Site Sponsor Requires a donation of $5,000+.
Tool Sponsor Requires a donation of $1,000+.
WHAT DOES IT COST TO SPONSOR A PORTION OF A
HABITAT HOME?
Examples include: Foundation, $6,000; Trusses, $3,000; Shed, $1,000; Plywood,
$600; Tile flooring, $300; Exterior door, $115 apiece; Bath tub, $80. Full

WHAT IS INVOLVED IN CONSTRUCTING A
HABITAT HOME?
A Habitat home is built on a multiple-week work schedule requiring a minimum of
10-20 volunteers working each day of the build.
WHAT ASSISTANCE DOES HABITAT PROVIDE TO THE
SPONSOR?
Habitat staff orders all materials, handles all inspections, and hires
subcontractors. Staff meets with the building committee to develope an advance
schedule, helps to organize volunteers, and supplies support throughout the
build. We provide publicity at various levels including website links, newsletters, site signage, ads and news releases.
